How do you prevent or remove fake or slanderous reviews?
All reviews go through both human and technological checks prior to publication on Firmchecker.
Why hasn't my review been approved yet?
We aim to keep approval times to a minimum - and it will generally be live within a day, but reviews can take up to 3 business days to be published on Firmchecker. This is because all reviews go through both technological and human checks before they are published to our site.
Why human content moderation?
Sometimes human discretion is needed to ensure that content complies with our terms and conditions. That is, to assess whether the substance of the review is obscene, abusive, misleading, false or defamatory.
Can we choose which reviews go live?
Unfortunately not - we leave this decision in the hands of the clients responding to our survey, who have the option to leave either a public review or private feedback. This helps us maintain the integrity of our site, respect clients' wishes and ensure it's useful for everyone.
We find that clients typically self-select into private feedback if they have something negative to share as most people just want to be heard. Our templates also prompt clients to take that course of action if they feel it's more appropriate.
Can we take down negative reviews?
We don't allow firms to take down reviews only because they are negative. This is useful feedback for the firm, and it makes your profile look real. Service-seekers understand that you can't please everyone, and will interpret a negative review in the context of all reviews. Plus, if you have zero constructive feedback on your profile, it can be viewed more sceptically by prospects!
Hence, we recommend asking each client for feedback via Firmchecker after a matter is complete. This way, you can keep your reviews current and representative of your happy clients!
